Welcome to Mountain Retreat Pod Szczerbakiem — a private mountain retreat set 600 metres above sea level, surrounded by the protected landscapes of the Poprad Landscape Park. Several years ago, I bought a small cabin here from Mr Stanisław. Over time, I expanded both the house and the surrounding land to create a peaceful mountain getaway for up to 10 guests — our family, friends, and their friends.
If you need even more space, you can pitch a tent in our fully fenced half-hectare garden.
The property offers complete privacy and uninterrupted panoramic mountain views. Enjoy spacious terraces with comfortable loungers, a private sauna, wood-fired hot tub, double hammocks, outdoor pizza oven, fire pit, traditional Pieniny-style gazebo, and a summer outdoor kitchen.
Beautiful hiking and cycling trails of the Beskid Sądecki and Pieniny Mountains begin just beyond the fence.
You can enjoy a hot coffee on the terrace while the children play on the pétanque court, in the wooden playhouse, or draw with chalk on the wall — all with panoramic views of the Pieniny Mountains, Beskid Sądecki, Szczawnica, the meandering Dunajec River, and even the distant Tatra Mountains.
Access
4x4 vehicle • snow chains in winter
Access is possible only by 4×4 vehicle. The access road is steep in places, so during winter snow chains are essential. If needed, our on-site host can gladly provide complimentary transport, and your own vehicle can be safely parked in Szczawnica.
